We are packing bags on Friday with the Black Medical Students (2nd time), and they made this flyer for the party, and it just makes my heart happy, so I’m sharing it with you all!
We were invited back to the Angels Spring Training game by The Diablos for a check presentation, and, no, we did not get $633,000, but are getting a grant from them. We were there with Maggie’s Place and Tempe Police who received a grant for programs they gave like “Shop with a Cop” for students. We all had so much fun, but missed Karen Merrell, but we certainly giggled when that churro sales guy walkBarbara MishlerbaRosebud M EllisebMelissa Levinson SingerinsoAmy Hansend @Amy Hansen are such amazing women, and lots of fun!!
We received 4 pallets of pads and tampons this morning. Bob, the truck driver, was so professional, funny, and those pallets were off the truck and in the unit in no time. Of course, our Women4Women male volunteers (Barry, Lars Hansen, and his friend Finn) were there to do the heavy lifting! 💁🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ it was a good morning, indeed!
Today Karen Merrell and I joined Alexa (an ASU senior who started MedLife, a fantastic group we pack bags with twice a year, and a future doctor) at a Women Wellness event with Circle the City (where Alexa is a volunteer), and we distributed bags to quite a few of the women there. We also left bags for the mobile units to take for women when need pads or tampons. A very good day (and a free lunch provided by La Tanqueria food truck.
Thank you to all of you who have chosen Women4Womennas your nonprofit for Fry’s. This money will be used to purchase pads and tampons (we really are quite boring!).
Also on Monday evening, @melissa Levinson singer and Rosebud M Ellis packed bags with women at Starfish and they packed over 300 pad bags! Woohoo!!
Monday evening, we packed bags with a small, but fantastic group of SLP’s and Alicia Stuebner Jerger and I had so much fun with them! They packed around 20 bags of pads, some of which were delivered the next day. Thanks to Devyn for organizing it!
We were invited to the Diamondbacks/Angels game today to receive a check by the Diablos’, and we were all so excited! We all woke up to a wonderful, beautiful, rare stormy day, but the rain abated, and we were emailed that the game would be played. So off we went; all of us in Amy’s car.
We arrived early, so much excitement, anticipation, and cold! Brrr! At about 12:20, the game was called for rain, so we headed to Final Round for lunch.
Although we did t receive our check, and we did not go onto the field, I had a fantastic day with women I truly love, and am proud to be working with: Barbara Mishler, Karen Merrell, Rosebud M Ellis, Melissa Levinson Singer, Amy Hansen,it wouldn’t let me tag you). You are all the best!

When our little group talks about our favorite packing parties, The Centers for Habilitation is always one of the top two! We all leave with such joy, smiles, laughter and love. Thanks Heather Rodriguez for being absolutely amazing! Today was just flat fun!
